WELCOME TO THE FOOD & DRINK BAR

IT IS ALWAYS TIME TO EAT AND DRINK! RESTAURANT SEARCH TOOL COMING SOON!
This is top of our list at most any time. You may have eaten about 20 minutes ago, but the right thing may make you eat again. There is a huge menu of great restaurants in Modesto, some big, some small. We especially like the downtown restaurants that are in walking distance from the theaters, clubs, the State and the Gallo Center. We try to expose most of the good restaurants, local coffee shops and great cocktail spots.

Who is changing their menu? If your favorite is not here yet, email us and we will come check it out and add it to the list, if we don't like a place or if they are mean or rude to customers, forget it, this isn't Paris. But ours is not the last word, yours is. For those where we have eaten, we have a posting board to share your dining experiences with others. This is the ultimate word of mouth and that is what counts.
IT IS COCKTAIL TIME!
Modesto has some dy-no-mite cocktails. From the brain killers at the Tiki (where yours truly took the Hootie and the Blowfish to drink) to the dessert flavors of the mind-numbing Jerk at Minnie's to the upscale old school drinks of Tressetti's or Galletto to the trendy tastes at Clayton, or the many options at Bacchus, You really can take your pick. Your favorite Martini, the best Bloody Mary. Where can you get it? Who has the coolest vibe? Best bartender? A little live music? There are a bunch of cool little places many you have never heard of. But now is the time to let everyone know about your favorite place. Don't sandbag and keep your place hidden. Let us know. Find a place to get something refreshing.
COCKTAIL REVIEW
Listen to your friends and others who have been there before you. Check out our listing of cocktail serving establishments. It may not necessarily be a bar, but can be a restaurant with a knack for mixing and pouring.

RESTAURANT REVIEWS - Coming soon.
Got something to say about that place you visited last weekend? Good or bad we want to hear it and so does everyone else. Share those stories and read what others have said about that restaurant around the corner.

IT IS ALWAYS TIME FOR COFFEE!!
Is Starbucks dominating the world? Do you stand in line for a latte just to order a Vente or will you go out of the way to hit your local coffee shop? Is there someone that takes care of you every day and makes you the perfect drink and reads your mind? Is Stabucks taking over or is it spreading the gospel of this drink that we call coffee? Now that we have 10 Starbucks, in town we need to see more local indie coffee shops.Whatever your feelings, there some local places that will kick some caffeinated butt? Tell us about them and make sure that you help spread the love for local coffee shops. J Street? Queen Bean? Boulevard? Deva? Movin Mocha? Giacomo? Are you checking out the local joe?

WI-FI INTERNET CONNECTIONS
Why on earth would you pay for that goofy T-Mobile/ATT when you can get a great wireless connection for free. BLVD, Picasso, H Street, Queen Bean, Deva, J Street all have free connections. 801G wireless cards will do the trick. Set the SSID to "any" and you are all over it.
HELPFUL TIPS!
When you plan your day or evening, then you need to see all of the things that can be grouped together. When you go to a show at The State, the Gallo Center or the Fat Cat Music House, plan on an early dinner reservation at 5:00 or 5:30. Most of the shows at The State are at 7:30 or 8:00. Many of the headliners at the Fat Cat start at 10:00 pm so you make make it a triple play, dinner - show - aftershow, all in walking distance from your parked car or hotel. Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, most downtown restaurants are open late.

PARKING DOWNTOWN
There is parking on 9th Street between K and L. There is a big garage on 11th Street between I and J. You can find another garage on the corner of 11th and K street. K is one way, so approach the garage entry from 9th Street. Most of the downtown restaurants and nightlife are all walking distance from these garages. Usually, there is plenty of street parking in the evenings. Have fun in Modesto.
